About Us

PomPom Film is a Croatian production company founded by director and creative producer Marina Andree Škop. With a strong focus on films for young audiences and distinctive auteur arthouse cinema, the company develops and produces emotionally engaging stories with international reach.

As the legal successor to the catalogue of Studio dim, PomPom Film continues to build on a body of work that combines artistic ambition with strong audience appeal. Its films have travelled widely, received numerous international awards, and reached audiences across Croatia, the region, and beyond.

The company’s latest production is the children’s feature film Extraordinary (Glavonja), an international five countries co-production supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Croatian Radiotelevision, the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the National Film Centre of Latvia, the Slovenian Film Centre, Creative Europe MEDIA, TV Slovenija, and Slovak Television. The film has already been seen by around 75,000 viewers in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and had its world premiere at BUFF in Malmö. Theatrical releases in Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Latvia are planned for autumn 2026.

In 2025, PomPom Film presented the minority co-production Our Father, directed by Goran Stanković, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in Croatian cinemas in summer 2026. The company also co-produced the successful children’s feature Beanie, winner of three international awards, including Best Film in the Children’s Programme at the 2022 Sarajevo Film Festival. The film attracted more than 150,000 admissions in cinemas across the region and Europe.

Marina Andree Škop brings more than 25 years of experience to the company, with a filmography that includes over 30 award-winning film and television titles. Her documentary Sevdah won the Audience Award at the Sarajevo Film Festival, while the children’s sci-fi hit My Grandpa Is an Alien, co-directed with Dražen Žarković, screened at more than 60 international festivals, was sold to 19 additional countries, and won 16 international awards, including the ECFA Award and prizes for Best Film and Best Director at major children’s film festivals.

PomPom Film has recently completed the minority co-production For Love (Ljubav), directed by Marko Škop, which will have its Slovak and Czech premieres in autumn 2026. The company is also completing post-production on 1970, a youth feature directed by Darko Lungulov, and developing the children’s feature film Gamerica, supported by Creative Europe MEDIA, and the Czech Film Fund, as well as Air in a Bottle (Zrak u boci), directed by Aida Begić.
